A Marine's Mission

After years of service in the United States Marine Corps, Trevor Johnson retired and came home to Grand Haven, Michigan. Like many veterans, he was looking for his next mission — and he found it on the water.

As an avid angler, Trevor noticed a gap in Grand Haven's fishing community. Local fishermen had to drive to Nunica or Spring Lake just to pick up quality bait and tackle. The town needed its own shop, and Trevor decided to build it.

With the help of his fiancée Molly Gouveia, who connected him with a local building owner, Trevor found the perfect space. After six weeks of intensive remodeling, Crispy Outdoors opened its doors in late May 2024.

Rooted in Community

Crispy Outdoors is more than a retail store — it's a community hub for anglers. Trevor sponsors nearly a dozen boats at Chinook Pier and supports the Grand Haven High School bass fishing team because he believes in investing where it matters.

Whether you're a seasoned charter captain or a kid with their first rod, you'll get the same genuine attention and expert advice when you walk through our doors. We're here to help you catch fish and enjoy the outdoors.

Our recent move to 17064 Robbins Road — a larger space near US-31 — means better accessibility, more inventory, and room to grow as Grand Haven's go-to fishing headquarters.
